Ranks, Titles & Promotions.
The definitive guide on what's what and who's who in the Band of the Brave. The Band of the Brave is a collective of Adventurers; An Adventurers Guild. Every member is encouraged to be active and to maintain a fun atmosphere.
Stranger.
A character who is not (yet) part of the Band, or has interacted with them in such a small degree that they are an unfamiliar face.
Perks:
- None.
Promotion:
Strangers may join the Band of the Braves as a Companion, when they become enamoured by our adventurous creed, and step up to join us in our adventures. This can happen by joining in with events, and getting their names and faces known to the Braves.
Companion.
To join the Band of the Brave is to join a family. Before someone can join the ranks of the Braves, they must first be a familiar friend and ally. There are many adventurers we meet on the roads. Some we happen on by chance, others seek us out. Some will stick with us, while others carry on on their own, only to share our fires on rare moments. These are the Companions.
Perks:
- None.
Promotion:
Companions may be promoted into the Band of the Braves as a proper Braveheart, if a good few of active Braves vote for them to be a worthy addition.
Braveheart.
The Bravehearts are the bread and butter, the heart and soul of the Band of the Brave. They are all equal in their fellowship and together they are the adventurers that keep the wheels turning. Bravehearts can act by their own desire, or join the guild in their activities as they please. They are encouraged to find quests and jobs for the guild to do. When Braves find themselves interacting with their comrades less and less, they may be demoted to Companion.
Perks:
- Can invite new members.
- Can post events on the calendar.
Promotion:
To become a Lionheart you must be active, and prove yourself to be a mature and kind individual. Always ready to lend an ear, or offer friendly advice. A pillar of the Band’s community that ensures there is a cheerful atmosphere.
Promotion to Lionheart only occurs in an OOC fashion. There is no IC distinction between the ranks of Braveheart and Lionheart.
Lionheart.
Lionheart is the OOC officer rank. They are responsible for maintaining a friendly atmosphere in the guild, intervening when discussions in guildchat become heated, or when members appear to be frustrated or bothered by something. They are the people who intermediate in arguments so things come to a peaceful conclusion. Do not hesitate to approach them with your problems, questions or concerns! Furthermore, Lionhearts and the Chief work together to assure the guild has events and is kept active, stepping in to create content where needed. As it is an OOC role, if Lionhearts become inactive or unwilling to carry on with their responsibilities, they will be demoted without IC fuss.
Perks:
- Can invite new members.
- Can post events on the calendar.
- Can demote Bravehearts.
- Can change Guild Message of the Day.
The Chief.
The Guild Master. Always retains a veto right to undo the decisions of other officers, or members. The Chief leads the guild in victory and defeat, respects the braves under their command and always provides a listening ear. Just like the Lionheart, the Chief is responsible for a good atmosphere, and can be approached with any worries or concerns members may have.
Perks:
- Can invite new members.
- Can post events on the calendar.
- Can demote Bravehearts and Lionhearts.
- Can change Guild Message of the Day.
- Can promote Companions, Bravehearts and Lionhearts.

- Alts of existing members are excluded from this rule.
Any character who has not been online, or actively playing with the guild for two months can be kicked from the guild.
To make the guild roster reflect the band's activity, inactive members will be kicked after two months. If players have logged in regularly, but haven't engaged with the guild's events in more than a month, they will be given a two week notice to get back in touch. Playing with the guild, at least now and then, is required. They are welcome to return when time allows them to be an active and contributing member again.
When promotions and demotions occur.
Characters may be invited into the guild OOCly (as the stranger rank). Promotions to Companion and Braveheart generally only occur for in-character reasons. Demotions can occur due to inactivity, or IC reasons. Lionhearts can be promoted and demoted outside of RP.
