Band of the Brave: The Comic.
Hello dear braves!
I'm not sure if everyone in this guild still knows who I am, so here's a quick introduction:
I am "erwtenpeller". I founded the Band of the Brave with my character Wellsworth and 4 others, watched it grow into something wonderful but eventually had to step down to make time for other responsibilities in my life, one of which was drawing erotic comics.
I am a full-time artist now, drawing mostly erotic comics and character commissions.
My Patreon page has all the relevant links on it: http://www.patreon.com/Elsewhere
Now, I don't intend to draw porn forever. "The dream" is to draw a full-length adventure comic in the style of the great Belgian and French adventure comics like Tintin, Spike and Suzy and Spirou et Fantasio. I think the Band of the Brave is both a great name and a great concept to build from, so I've been playing with the idea of stripping the guild's history and characters down and rebuilding them into a format that could be the foundation for a great, classic-feeling adventure comic. The comic will -not- take place on Azeroth, and will -not- feature elements from Warcraft.
I'd like to hear your opinions and input on this idea. Which characters do you think would translate well to a comic? What role or archetype should they fulfill? Which adventures do you think could make great comic-book stories and why?
There are only a few things I'm really set on using, and a lot of other things that are just floating around waiting to be assembled, disassembled, broken up and put together again. In the comic, the Band will not be a large collective of adventurers, but rather a small group of them. A party, if you will. The comics would feature additional characters depending on the story, but I want to have a main cast of four or five characters only.
Wellsworth will be a central character, the "leader". Quotation marks because I'm pretty sure she will be the only one that actually believes she is in charge. She will not be a paladin, but a motorcycle-riding knight.
Wellsworth's father, the great wizard Theodore Wellsworth the third, will be a returning villain. Delidah and Razpeel will be his goofy helpers.
Arenfel will likely appear, but not as one of the main cast.
Helmut will play a mostly villainous role.
The story I'm considering for a first comic is "The Beast of the Blackwald". It will be a story of the main characters all going on the same quest to slay a beast. Circumstances will cause them to work together against a common obstacle. At the end of the comic, the Band of the Brave is first established.
I'll use this thread for future ramblings.

Re: Band of the Brave: The Comic.
If you wanted to use one of my characters (which I doubt) then you're more than welcome. Good luck with this, it sounds cool.
Re: Band of the Brave: The Comic.
Hey erwt! Nice to see you around these parts still.
Of course I'd love to see a comic about the Band. Having been in it for quite some time, I know exactly the sort of sense of adventure you mean, as it was the thing that drew me to the guild in the first place. Also love those french/belgian comics you mention. Great stuff. As for what adventures, and what characters would be best translated…
Well, there quite a few. I'd love it if Rin was one of them, but that's a bit biased. It'd probably be best to have a varied mix of attitudes, races and 'classes'. Here's a list of totally biased ideas for which characters would be cool to choose, and might bounce well off eachother;
You already mentioned a few, like Wellsworth, Arenfel etc. Good choices, all.
The Straight Man/Woman. Some sort of normal person for the audience to relate to. Braves lack a lot of these. I would say Rin… But that has changed over time too. And it'd be another human, although that does help in 'relatability'. There might be others that better fit in this role. Liam or Tarlin perhaps- like, sort of down to earth ranger dudes. But bias, bias, bias; RIN!
Lomonde. A captain (although probably from a stolen ship), a morale boosting bard (gotta have those), and most definitely a dastardly rogue. Might be a quadruple agent, who knows.
Shapur. An ancient being, the group's conscience, maybe sometimes a bit distracted by having immortality and near godly powers- that he'll never use. Also distracted by -fascinating- plants.
Kysah. Downcast, sort of neutral elf vegetarian that hovers along. And has mindbending powers that she casually uses to give people unending nightmares until their faces melt.
Agathea. Gotta have a witch in there somewhere. Although her awesomeness in WoW might've been due to the lack of good witch stereotypes. But in a comic she might just be a witch stereotype.
Henry the Goat. Full time goat, goat- and goat. Eats grass and stares at people until they're uncomfortable.
So there’s my extremely biased list of characters. Frankly though, there’s a whole host of ‘em in the Band that you could take inspiration from.
As for adventures, also a whole ton.
The Pandaria adventure comes to mind; the Hoarder and travelling by all the temples, going through trials. Classic stuff. And then being ‘mugged’ by Helmut in the end. Although I missed it, I heard the trek up the mountains was particularly good, with seeing the fears of every character.
Also in Pandaria; Admiral Dar-Darand his dastardly attempts to throw things unto the Braves from above. Resulting in idols dressed up as Garrosh (or one of the other characters in Elsewhere- like a giant Helmut statue or something). And later on there was a brawl over a hot-air balloon over a massive drop to certain doom. Adventure! Also bias, cuz’ I could all envision it so clearly as it was my event.
The Valentine event with the chemicals. That was fun. Perhaps not very adventurous- but I remember it fondly. It might also fit into your -other- comics.
Another one of my events…Shopping in the Void. A small ethereal shop has set up in a corner of the city. The Braves browse around, purchasing items. The shop owners get more nervous and nervous- before packing up rapidly and vanishing. Because their presence attracted a powerful void lord that proceeds to try and devour the whole city. Ethereal and their void warping business. Tsk.
That’s all I can think of right now. There’s been many events, and interesting situations. But their resolution often comes down to ‘Fight!’ and then ’Win!’. I’ll pop in more when I can think of it.
Good luck with it, keep us up to date!

Re: Band of the Brave: The Comic.
Charlie maybe? Need a nerdy mage that tries to seem cool? thats him. A pyromaniac that doesnt seem to take anything seriously at all. Usually wearing a big grin on his face and always trying to keep the mood of the company he's with up. Not too much of a stranger to shady dealings and isnt really good at diplomacy. He also seem to catch fire a lot.
Just giving out some vague stuff atm since I rejoined the Braves. Would ofcourse be honored if you actually made something out of Charlie.

Re: Band of the Brave: The Comic.
That's an awesome idea and I would surely read it.
I don't know if you know my character or not, but if so, if you need an idiot who's fond of tinkering, causing explosions, setting things on fire or stealing dangerous machinery - don't forget the gold, lots of it - and always remains loyal to his friends then it would be a great honour to see Harold make an appearance.
Also, he's wearing an oven/furnace for an armour. Just saying.
